Netflix synchronisation placement for 'Ufuna Bani' on The Brave Ones

UFUNA BANI (SONDELA) is the the second official single by collaborators, multi-Award winning South African Artist Pilani Bubu and Kenyan sound-man and producer AfroNautiq. The fruits of a successful tour in Nairobi during February 2022 while Pilani Bubu promoted and performed her recent project 'Lockdown Lovestory' while serving her residency at the iconic Supersonic Africa Studios. The follow up single after 'As We Lay', which was released in September 2021.

The song is about a partner seeking and pleading for intimacy and connection to their lover, who seems distant now that they have won their lovers heart.

'So who else does this person want if it is not me, a mere reflection of me perhaps?' Asks Pilani in her home language, isiXhosa, broody solemn tone, all the while carrying the many melodies of melancholy and longing.

'uFuna Bani' has also been featured on the epic NETFLIX series, THE BRAVE ONES. The song is featured on episode 4 during an intimate love scene between the main characters.

Lockdown LoveStory tour - Kenya

In early 2022, Jerikholisa hosted the multi-layered and talented dreamer and doer, the SAMA Award winning Pilani Bubu in Kenya for the release of her project 'Lockdown LoveStory' gig and media tour.

Lockdown Lovestory, was written, and recorded in the height of the pandemic, in real time as this story unfolded for Pilani during her time in quarantine, in the unprecedented hard lockdown of March – August 2020, in South Africa. The levels from 5 - 1, were real markers in the chapters of her life and this love story.

Lockdown Lovestory is inspired by the journey she takes in a long distance and virtual relationship, exploring the nuances of the loneliness and yearning presented by this circumstance. Pilani explores the feelings of fantasy and nostalgia packaged in Nu-RnB, she makes references to 90’s teen nostalgia in the music production as well as the visual storytelling. Marked by beautiful melodies, cohesively held by her love for vocal harmony and rhythmic guitars. She also goes layers deep with the use of vintage mics, FX, synths, and rhodes in electronic production adding to the fresh edge and urban feel of this modern day story.

She collaborated with Afronautiq: Sean Peevers on the springboard track ‘As We Lay’ that began the production journey of the project. Then worked with beat makers and producers, Samuel ’Sichangi’ Namasaka (Kenya), Ludwe Danxa (South Africa), Andras Weil (Budapest) and guitarist Bradley Prince (South Africa), who all came together serendipitously and inspired to help tell this story.

Fashion : Commissioned characters in Kali Works ARIF Collection campaign

We've always seen our relationship like water. It ebbs and flows, expands and contracts. We try by all means to not resist each other's growth but instead, allow each other space to become more.

Similar to the ARIF collection which is represented by one continuous line that paints two pictures, we see our relationship as that one continuous line that allows both of us to develop as individuals, but at the same time creates a fuller picture when seen in union. Our superpower is in the fluidity of our union, birthed in compassion and crowned by friendship and love.

Our love story does not stand alone... we are a proud of the love that surrounds us. Meet our brother and sister, Gwen and Vuyo Qubu, who have played a major role in our love journey by being the amazing people that they are and by living and leading by example in how they live a love filled life.

TRACE EAST AFRICA PRESENTS: BackToTheBeat December 2021

'Back To The Beat' (BTTB) is a show developed for TRACE East Africa that's focused on sharing the visual story behind the making of music. As often, the audience are recipients of the final product but are however not included in the journey of the making of the music, we wanted a different approached to boosting engagement with the music, creating a platform for discovery and loyal fan bases, by taking the music consumer on a journey that shows the 'Behind the scenes' of music creation. BTTB is produced and shot at Supersonic Studios and shot by Fat Rain Films both companies are under The Village Creative Group based in Kenya. Executive Producer: Mnikelo Qubu of Jerikholisa & FEATURED Savara of Saut Sol, Nviiri The Storyteller, Chris Kaiga, Karun, Sichangi, Steph, Bezema, Mankind and Hiribae

Each episode is broken into 3 acts: Act 1: A producer and engineer Sean Peevers of Supersonic begin ideating and creating a beat Act 2: Once the beat is made, the producers invite an artist (vocalist) whom they feel would best complement the beat & the vocalist comes into studio to record their contribution Act 3: Next the producers identify any other instruments that would compliment the current song draft and invite the appropriate session musicians. Closing: The final version of the song, against BTS visuals. This was aired by TRACE EA over December 2021

Soundtrack To A Heartbreak Release October 2021

Soundtrack To A Heartbreak is Sichangi’s 10 track album release adorned by some of Kenya’s best vocalists such as Karun, Xenia Manasseh and Lisa Odour Noah. The project also includes features from rappers TAIO, Steph and Xtatic and a guitar highlight from extraordinaire Tugi Mlamba. Recorded over a period of 4 and a half years between South Africa and his hometown Nairobi, Sichangi proves his growth and expansion as a musical artist with this project.

STAH Album Cover Artwork FV.jpg

As a RBMA (Red Bull Music Academy) alumni and a unique producer of his own merit, this album provides a deeper look into Sichangi the musician and Sichangi the song writer. His penmanship is uncovered by his way of narrating his story, paired by the melodies incorporated in each track. Inspired by a lot of 90’s Hip Hop and R&B, expect to hear lots of rhythmic melodies and experimental references to that time, both lyrically and sonically. What makes this project a true body of work is the ways in which every artist involved embraces the vulnerability of the subject at hand (heartbreak) that attributes that to real human emotion, connection or lack thereof, and how we all choose to deal with those particular chapters of our lives.

'FROM JOZI TO NAIROBI' - EXPERIENTIAL POP-UP 2018

BY: JERIKHOLISA & VIBE TRIBE NAIROBI

Also featured in MixMag (US) Documentary on 'Nu Nairobi'

JeriKholisa and Vibe Tribe collaborated to curate a fashion + music fusion event on a random Tuesday in February to test just how ready Nairobians are to step out, swagged up for shopping & sundowners on weekdays during slow months...

And judging by how many hugs we've seen in this video and how dope the photos turned out, we gathered that the people of this city are definitely prepared for more pop up partying - whether rain, shine, weekday or weekend.

From 2pm - 8pm we challenged our DJs to play only nu Kenyan releases and it was EPIC!

JeriKholisa was also hosting a group of approximately 50 South Africans visiting Nairobi, Kenya.
